Befriending Me 2026-2027

The BeMe Spiral

Befriending Me is an ongoing online programme supporting wellness and resilience through accessible yoga and movement, meditation, embodiment practices, nervous system education and community.

It is not a course to complete or another programme asking you to improve yourself. It is a gentle, unfolding journey that you can meet in your own way and at your own pace.

At the heart of Befriending Me is a simple question:

What is available to you today - and how might you meet yourself here with kindness?

Who is Befriending Me for?

Befriending Me is for anyone living with persistent or fluctuating health challenges, including:

chronic pain or fatigue

ME/CFS and fibromyalgia

Long Covid

autoimmune and inflammatory conditions

multiple sclerosis

autonomic dysfunction and POTS

hypermobility and connective tissue conditions

recovery from serious illness

other conditions affecting energy, comfort and everyday capacity

It may also support you if you are neurodivergent, highly sensitive, stressed, overwhelmed, overworked or experiencing burnout.

You do not need a diagnosis. You do not need to be flexible, fit or experienced in yoga or meditation. You do not need to feel well enough to participate in a particular way.

You are welcome exactly as you are.

A different way of approaching wellbeing

Living with ongoing difficulties can mean spending a great deal of time trying to get better, get back to normal or push through what your body is communicating.

You may have received very little meaningful support. You may also have encountered false promises, miracle cures or approaches that left you feeling responsible when they did not work.

Befriending Me offers something different.

It begins with the understanding that your body and nervous system are not failing you. They are continually responding to what you are experiencing, what you have lived through and what is available to you today.

Rather than continually trying to increase your capacity, you will be invited to notice it, understand what affects it and explore how it might be protected, restored and nourished.

There is no pressure to fix yourself, force change or perform wellness correctly.

What will you explore?

Throughout the programme, you will be introduced to:

accessible, science-informed nervous system education

gentle yoga and adaptable movement

embodiment and body-awareness practices

meditation, rest and relaxation

ways to recognise your changing capacity

practices for meeting stress and overwhelm

self-compassion and kinder inner language

curiosity, creativity and connection

opportunities to reflect and share within a supportive community

Everything is invitational. You can participate from a chair, sofa, mat or bed. You may move, rest, adapt, keep your camera off or simply listen.

There is nothing to achieve and nothing to prove.

The Befriending Me Spiral

Befriending Me moves through a repeating Spiral:

Arrive

Part One — Rest and Restore

Part Two — Nourish

Part Three — Reflect

Part Four — Rebuild

Part Five — Explore

Part Six — Connect

Onwards

Each part offers a different way of exploring your relationship with yourself, your body, your nervous system and your available capacity.

The Spiral does not suggest a straight path from illness to wellness. You may return to the same themes many times, meeting them differently as your circumstances, understanding and capacity change.

You can join wherever the Spiral happens to be. There is no need to catch up, and nothing is lost if you cannot attend every session.

A consistent and supportive session shape

Although the themes change, each session follows a familiar, spacious rhythm:

arriving and noticing what is here

a little accessible teaching around the theme

a guided embodied practice

time to notice, reflect and integrate

This consistency can help the sessions feel familiar and manageable, while still allowing each practice to offer something new.

Live sessions and recordings

Befriending Me takes place online, with live sessions on Thursday mornings at 11.00 am UK time.

Recordings are added to the online programme, allowing you to return to the practices in your own time—or take part entirely through the recordings if attending live is not possible.

You are encouraged to make the programme work for you. You may attend regularly, join when you have capacity, watch a recording, practise for only a few minutes or simply listen.
